Coffee and Cowboy Love!

Forget Me Not Cowboy (Rustlers Creek, #2)Forget Me Not Cowboy by Addison Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harper Allen has returned to Rustlers Creek to launch her coffee business with the help of her celebrity sister, the Cowgirl Gourmet. But Harper can’t escape handsome veterinarian Gray McClain, the man who broke her heart ten years ago and whose kisses still make her head spin. When a freak ranch accident causes Gray to lose some of his memory, he believes he’s spent the last decade with Harper, the woman he’s never stopped loving, instead of alone. As Harper helps Gray return to health, she can’t deny she’s more in love with him than ever. But can she fight for the man of her dreams, even when he’s determined to let her go again?
This is my first Addison Fox romance, and it won’t be my last. I loved the characters, as well as the plot. I rarely read a story with an amnesiac and I felt that it was well portrayed. I love when romances leave you a little lighter than you were before reading it, and this one did just that. The only reason this wasn’t a 5-star read was the cursing. I believe an author should know other words other than curses to use in a story. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

A Hurricane Romance!

The Sandcastle HurricaneThe Sandcastle Hurricane by Carolyn Brown
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Cousins Tabby and Ellie Mae are running their aunt’s beachfront bed-and-breakfast in Sandcastle, Texas. Their lives spin out of control when a hurricane barrels into the coastline, and a small eclectic group of local folks take shelter with them.
I really wanted to like this story, but it didn’t hold my interest. There was really no excitement, just seemed like a lot of talking. This is the first book I read from this author, and it just wasn’t for me. Fans of this author should try this one, though. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

An Antique Murder!

Dead Men Don’t Decorate (Old Town Antiques Mystery #1)Dead Men Don’t Decorate by Cordy Abbott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Roberto Fratelli, owner of the antiques store Waited4You, is the meanest man in Marthasville, Virginia. When he puts the business up for sale, the other merchants in town are overjoyed. Local resident Camille Benson, has decided to buy him out. During a celebration in honor of Camille’s new venture, Camille and her best friend Opal find Roberto’s lifeless body on the floor. Can she solve the murder before there’s another dead body?
This was a very good cozy mystery with a wonderful protagonist. I like Camille because she’s older and starting part of her life over again. The side characters seem likeable and wacky in a good way. I felt there was an awkwardness to the story, like the writing needed a little more editing. Many thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

A Love for the Outlaw!

The Outlaw's Claim (Westmoreland Legacy: The Outlaws Book 5)The Outlaw's Claim by Brenda Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maverick Outlaw knows his own mind. He knew from the beginning that a fling with friend Sapphire Bordella would be more than just sex. That is, until Phire says they should go back to being just friends, and then announces that she’s pregnant with Maverick’s child and her father expects her to marry someone else! Maverick may not be ready to give his heart, but nothing will stop him from claiming what’s his.
This was a fantastic western romance filled with memorable characters, a page-turning plot, and a happily ever after. There were some hot sex scenes, but it was tastefully written and seemed a part of the plot. I definitely want to read more of this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.

A Motorcycle Murder!

A Trip with Trouble (Mountain Lodge Mystery, #2)A Trip with Trouble by Diane Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When the ladies of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club take over the Mountaintop Lodge for their annual autumn ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Misty Murphy couldn’t be more thrilled. But, when one of the riders is killed in a freak accident, Misty thinks that something else could’ve happened. Can she find the truth before another rider gets hurt?

This was a great cozy mystery. It kept my interest all the way through with wonderful characters and an intriguing plot. I also liked the romantic subplot; it was a good break from the intense main plot. I will definitely read more from this series. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this advanced reader’s copy. This review is my unbiased opinion.
