During the Mad Hatter Masquerade, a fundraiser hosted by the Friends of the Opera, Harlan Sadler is killed. He’s been hit in the head with a croquet mallet, and his body hung on the chains and paddles of the grist mill where Theodosia and Drayton find him. Theodosia was asked to investigate, and she risks her life to find the truth.
This was a great cozy mystery with fabulous characters and a setting that draws you in, and then the plot takes you on a cozy ride filled with intrigue. The one thing that surprised me was the use of profanity in this story. I think an author should use other words whenever possible. I recommend this story and series to any mystery lover.
