When the Duke of Hurstbourne receives a letter from his childhood friend asking him to marry his sister Ophelia, Hurst declines because he believes in love at first sight. Because of society’s strict propriety for ladies, Ophelia Stowe has to present herself as a man to seek the Duke of Hurstbourne’s favor. If not for a missing antiquity, she wouldn’t have asked for help from the handsome man who had rebuffed her. Can she save her family name, and find a love that will last forever?
Even though I liked the characters in this story, the pace was off, and the story dragged and I found it very boring. At this point, I usually put the book down. I will read other stories from this author because I've enjoyed some of her other works. Thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for this advanced reader's copy. This review is my honest opinion.
